About Us

Committed to caring for the environment

Everything that we wash down the drain ends up in our oceans, lakes, rivers, and streams. Flowerstone Soap is made only with natural ingredients, so it’s friendly to our marine ecosystems.

Our soap labels are made with recycled paper, and all packaging is recyclable too.

5% of all Flowerstone Soap profits are donated to Watershed Watch Salmon Society, a science-based charity working to defend and rebuild B.C.’s wild salmon. Wild salmon are integral to British Columbia’s wildlife, including orcas, bears, and old-growth forests.

Our Company

Flowerstone Soap gets its name from the flowerstone, a type of igneous rock found on Vancouver Island, and in Japan. It has feldspar crystals forming flower-like patterns.

Flowerstone Soap is made with natural oils, clays, botanical colourants, and essential oils. All our products are handmade in small batches, and cured for a minimum of 6 weeks.

About Me

Hello, bonjour, hola, I’m Karina, the owner and soapstress at Flowerstone Soap. In addition to crafting soaps, I enjoy playing guitar, improving my French, photography, travelling, fair-weather kiting with Javi, and hanging with my cat. I like good books, trees, the ocean, the Seahawks, pinot gris, peanut butter, Tom Petty, and Thelma and Louise.

My appreciation of good soaps came from visiting Island markets, and buying products from local makers. After taking a soap-making class, I started creating my own soap that I love, and I hope you will too.
